Quality Standards & Ratings


In addition to Underwriters Laboratories' wet location listing, all of Millerbernd's Food Area and Underpass fixtures are IP66 rated. The "IP" stands for ingress protection while the "66" means that a fixture is dust tight and protected against heavy seas and strong jets of water. The IP66 rating is comparable to the NEMA 4 and 4X. All of our food and clean area fixtures are designed and measured to meet the stringent UL wet and hose down IP66 rating while still providing easy installation and access to electrical components. They also protect the environment from heat, sparking, arcing, dirt, dust, moisture, contaminants, air pressure equalization and other conditions that may adversely affect processes or safety in a specific area.
