Stainless Steel
Incorporating only quality U.S. steel materials for our lighting poles, we employ the most advanced, state-of-the-art construction and manufacturing techniques to develop an extensive line of standard lighting poles. Corrosion-resistant stainless steel materials make our lighting poles a favorite among architects that often look for extra luminaire height at a reasonable cost. With a zero-maintenance finish that is highly resistant to attack by salt spray, smog, chlorides, acids or alkaline, stainless steel poles have a life expectancy of 100+ years.

Galvanized Steel
Millerbernd Poles are hot-dipped galvanized per American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) A123 Specifications on-site at our facility in Winsted, MN. After galvanizing, our employees clean and inspect each galvanized pole prior to shipment.
-
Weathering Steel
Weathering steel is specially formulated steel that does not require any surface finish protection. Weathering steel lighting poles, being a low-cost steel pole alternative, have a life span in most environments similar to galvanized poles. They are self-healing, unaffected by scratches, chips or other types of surface damage. When properly weathered, the finish color remains constant throughout the life of the pole.

Millerbond Paint Process
Millerbond is an electrostatically applied liquid finish system consisting of an organic, zinc-rich, moisture cure urethane primer and high quality fast-cure polyurea topcoat. This paint system offers outstanding weathering and corrosion resistance. Millerbernd light poles and traffic signal structures are finish painted on-site at our facility in Winsted.
Millerbond is also highly graffiti-resistant, and most spray paints can be quickly and easily removed without damage to the finish. Millerbond is covered by a five-year limited warranty against excessive fading, cracking or peeling. You will benefit from reduced maintenance and a longer service life when you choose this option

Millerbond Finished Galvanized Steel
A duplex coating of paint over galvanized steel is considered to be the most corrosion resistant coating possible. Millerbond with its zinc-rich primer is perhaps the best possible combination of paint and galvanization available in the market. This combination coating has an estimated life of more than twice that of a standard galvanized pole.

Prime Coated for Painting
Millerbernd’s base prime coat is an electrostatic, air-assisted spray finish of a zinc-rich, moisture cure urethane (ZRU) primer which has been subjected to a salt spray test with excellent results.
