Three Generations Strong, Family Continues to Play an Important Role at Millerbernd

Hard work, determination, and the value of a job well done are lessons that have been passed down for generations and continue to guide Millerbernd today.

Oftentimes, life’s most important lessons are rooted in family, and when it comes to a multi-generational family-owned business like Millerbernd Manufacturing, those lessons often carry even greater weight. The impact and the importance of family play a significant role for Millerbernd’s current CEO and third-generation owner, Trevor Millerbernd. From creating a work/life balance for himself and the over 640 team members who currently call the company home to developing a set of core values that serve as the guiding principles for the brand, family has always been at the center. 
 

“Family is everything,” said Trevor. “It’s where most of us learn the value of hard work, of respect, humility, and operating with a high level of integrity. And family is the kind of structure that we try to create here (at Millerbernd).”
 

Walk the factory floor and take the time to talk to employees, and you’ll quickly learn that Millerbernd is more than just a place of employment for most. Instead, it’s a place where people feel like they belong, where they’re proud of what they do, and where, not surprisingly, it feels like family. That kind of atmosphere creates teamwork, where people want to work together, watch out for each other, and win.
 

While Millerbernd has successfully created a cohesive and loyal workplace environment for its employees, the impact of family runs much deeper.
 

“I learned a lot of lessons from my family when I was young,” said Trevor. “My grandfather taught me the importance of determination and persistence — it’s really where our core value of having a positive attitude, being solutions-oriented, and striving to build a great reputation stem from. In fact, all of our core values are rooted in things I learned or experienced through family. My grandfather, my father, my uncle, all of them worked incredibly hard, and when they said they were going to do something, they did it. That’s how we look at every project we take on.”

That can-do attitude, the energy it produces, and the pride that comes from a job well done are what fuel Millerbernd’s seemingly never-ending push to be better and to do more. 
 

“Families aren’t perfect,” said Trevor. “Things don’t always go as planned, but when you’re in an environment where everyone wants to win, then you work it out and keep pulling on the rope in the same direction. It’s not always going to go smoothly, but at the end of the day, we’re measured by our results, and I couldn’t be more proud of the results this team continues to produce.”
